Registration under way for Sour Grapes marathon in Brainerd

Registration is under way for the 12th annual Sour Grapes Half and Half Marathon Trail Run on Saturday, June 8, at the Northland Arboretum in Brainerd and Baxter.

The 1-mile and one-half mile kids races will start at 7:30 a.m., followed by a mass start for the half marathon run and the 10K run/walk at 8:15 a.m.

Kids races are limited to ages 12 and younger. Age classes for the adult events are listed on the website.

Participants are asked to pre-register, if possible. Pre-registration price breaks end June 1. Paper registrations must be received at the arboretum by 4 p.m. June 6. Online registration will also close at the same time and date.

In-person late registration will again be available at the Arboretum from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, June 7, and from 6:30-7:30 a.m. Saturday, June 8. Kids registration closes at 7 a.m. Saturday, June 8.

The race will be limited to the first 500 adult registrants.

The registration fee includes a T-shirt for those who register by June 1. T-shirts for those registering late will be on a first-come basis. There will be post-race refreshments and awards.

Event proceeds go to the arboretum. Co-race directors are Brandy Blum and Lou Anderson.
