The state tournament will be the largest clay target tournament in the country with more than 2,000 athletes participating. PR-B/PL will be represented in three different classes of shooters: Novice, junior varsity and varsity with approximately 10 local students shooting in each of the three classes.

Shooters in the junior varsity and varsity classes will shoot 100 targets. Those shooting in the novice division will shoot 75 targets at the state tournament. There will also be a coaches shootout on Saturday night at the state tournament.

A fun shoot was held Sunday, May 26, which included a buddy shoot (pairs were drawn randomly) and a mom’s shoot (athletes coach their mom). Winners of the first buddy shoot were Ali and Kayla Adkins; second buddy shoot, Jesse Ekstrand and Tyler McCallister.

Winners of the mom’s shoot was Marnie and her son, Kolton Cusey, and Kathie and her son, Quinn Harman.

A hot dog/brat fundraiser was held at the Pequot Lakes Supervalu Friday and Saturday, May 24-25, to raise money for the state tournament. Anyone wishing to donate to the team can contact Steven Weagel at 218-251-1255 or Nikki Shoutz at 218-821-3456.
