PR-B/PL trap shoot team moves into third place

PR-B/PL team moves into third place

The final competition week for the high school trap shoot team was held Sunday, May 19, with the Pine River-Backus/Pequot Lakes team moving into third place in the conference after four weeks of competition.

Week 5 results will be posted by Saturday, May 25. PR-B/PL was just 4 points behind second-place Thief River Falls after bumping out Bloomington Jefferson last week.

Lester Prairie continues to be in first place in Conference 10A. There are eight teams in the conference.

The Minnesota State Clay Target League State Tournament will be June 7-9 at the Alexandria Shooting Park in Alexandria. All athletes will shoot in one of three classifications based on their average after three weeks of competition: novice, junior varsity and varsity.

Top Gun for Week 5 and shooting a perfect 25 score on the first round was Austin Nieman of Pine River-Backus. Nieman shot a 46 out of 50 for the honors.

Top Shooters this week: Nieman, 46; Dale Ford and Logan Kangus, both 44; Quinn Harman, 43; Travis Aune, 42; Trenton Beyer and Tanner Smith, both 39; HannaLee France, 38; Christian Burnet, Jacob Roubal, Shane Sepin and Bret Reed, all 37; Logan Bauman and Austin McAllister, both 36; Ashley Abear, Brady Hamilton, Zach Lyonais and Kayla Adkins, all 35.
