PR-B boys 4th at W-H-A meet

The Pine River-Backus track and field team competed at the Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Invitational on Friday, May 17.

The Pequot Lakes boys were first with 206.5 points, followed by W-H-A with 138, Wadena-Deer Creek 69 and PR-B fourth with 54.5. The Tigers’ TJ Lukanen won the 3,200-meter run in 10:53.11 while teammate Brandon Mager was second in both the 300 hurdles and triple jump.

In the girls’ meet, Pequot Lakes tied Park Rapids for first with 187 while the Tigers placed seventh with 19.5. The Tigers’ Megan Porta won the discus title with a toss of 101 feet.

PR-B will compete in the Section 6A meet on Thursday, May 30, at Minnesota State University in Moorhead.
