Patriots second at Mid-State girls' golf meet

The Pequot Lakes girls’ golf team finished second at the Mid-State Conference meet on Monday, May 13, at The Vintage course in Staples.

Detroit Lakes won the title with 306, followed by the Patriots with 347 and Staples-Motley with 369.

Pequot Lakes’ Maggie Heggerston was fourth with a 78 to earn all-conference honors while teammate Savannah Stone earned honorable mention by placing 10th with an 86.

Patriots 2nd at Jordan

On Friday and Saturday, May 10-11, Savannah Stone and Heggerston both scored two-day rounds of a 151 to tie for medalist honors and lead Pequot Lakes to second place at the Jordan Invitational.

Team scores: 1-Detroit Lakes 628, 2-Pequot Lakes, 669, 3-Jordan 818, 4-Byron 845, 5-New Ulm 846, 6-Triton 977

Individual medalist: Savannah Stone (PL) 151, Maggie Heggerston (PL) 151

Patriots win at Ruttgers

Pequot Lakes claimed five of the top six spots to help the Patriots win the 11-team Crosby-Ironton Ranger Invitational on Tuesday, May 7, at Ruttgers Bay Lake Lodge.

Heggerston finished second with a 79, Savannah Stone was third with an 80, Olmscheid followed with 84 and Alex Stone and Snyder each had 85s to all finish in the top six.

Emily Israelson’s 73 paced the field as her medalist effort helped Staples-Motley finish second.
