Tigers fall to Menahga in baseball opener

The Pine River-Backus baseball team finally opened its season with a 14-3 non-conference home loss against Menahga on Monday, May 6.

Nick Gravdahl led the Tigers’ offense with two hits and a pair of RBI while Brandon Junes was the losing pitcher. Menahga led 7-3 after six innings before they added seven runs for the convincing win. The visitors took advantage of seven walks and four hit batters and four PR-B errors.

PR-B, which was outhit 7-4 on Monday, was scheduled to play a doubleheader at Walker on Tuesday, May 7.
