Mager playing well for Tiger golfers

Cody Mager of Pine River-Backus was one of three golfers who carded rounds of 79 to tie for medalist honors at the Mid-Minnesota Conference meet on Friday, May 3, at Whitetail Run.

Mager tied for medalist honors with Crosby-Ironton’s James Cragun and Staples-Motley’s Andrew Israelson. Staples-Motley finished first by two strokes over Park Rapids while the Tigers placed seventh.

The Tigers were scheduled to play at Deacon’s Lodge at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8.

Patriots defeat Tigers

The Pequot Lakes boys’ golf team defeated PR-B 177 to 199 in a dual meet on Thursday, May 2, at Emily Greens.

Mager earned medalist honors with a 38 while the Patriots were led by Trenton Beyer with 42.

PR-B scores: Mager 38, Sasse 49, Raph 54, Austin McAllister 58, Tyler McAllister 62, Troy Staples 67.

Rangers outplay Tigers

The Crosby-Ironton boys’ golf team defeated PR-B 224 to 137 in a dual meet on Tuesday, April 30, at Emily Greens.

Mager again led the Tigers with a round of 44. C-I’s James Cragun was medalist with a 42.

PR-B scores: Mager 44, Sasse 53, Tyler McAllister 62, Raph 65, Austin McAllister and Staples 67.
