Trap shoot team competes at first two events

The Pine River-Backus-Pequot Lakes High School trap shoot team participated in its first week of competition, with contests Thursday, April 25, and Sunday, April 28.

Competition weeks include two rounds of 25 birds for a total of 50. There are five weeks of competition and the public is always invited at noon Sundays at the Pine River Fish and Game Club Range.

Following are results for the first two competitions:

April 25 results

Top gun: Shane Sepin, 37 out of 50.

Top five shooters: Sepin, 37; Austin Nieman, 36; Jesse Eckstrand, 35; Quinn Harman, 35; Logan Kangus, 35.

Average of all shooters: 26.87.

April 28 results

Top gun: Harman, 46 out of 50.

Top five shooters: Harman, 46; Austin J. Kozelka, 43; Dale Ford, 42; Bret Reed, 40; Logan Bauman, 38; Nieman, 38; Austin Orth, 38.

Average of all shooters: 32.
