Trap shoot team attracts 34 members

Pequot Lakes and Pine River-Backus High School trap shoot team members had their first practice Saturday, April 13, at the Pine River Fish and Game Club Range.

The first competition for the team of 34 is scheduled Sunday, April 21. Last year, the team had 23 members.

Each practice and meet consists of two rounds of 25 birds (50 total).

Everyone is invited to the Pine River Range at noon every Sunday to support the high school trap shoot team.

Members include Pequot Lakes students Ashley Abear, Travis Aune, Trenton Beyer, Christian Burnet, Ellie Buschman, Cohl Devries, Oliver Erholtz, Quinn Harman, Kyle Jordan, Zack Lyonais, Isaiah Moengen, Chris Newton, Jacob Roubal and Nicholas Salvevold.

Pine River-Backus students are Alexandra Adkins, Kayla Adkins, Logan Bauman, Kaleb Cusey, Kolton Cusey, Jesse Ekstrand, Dale Ford, Hannalee France, Brady Hamilton, Logan Kangus, Camden Korwin-Kuczynski, Austin Kozelka, Jordan Lightner, Tyler McAllister, Austin McAllister, Brett Nash, Austin Nieman, Austin Orth, Bret Reed, Shane Sepin, Duston Voyles and Tanner Smith.

Head coach is Steven Weagel. Assistant coaches are Nikki Shoutz, Darrell and Tracy Wolkenhauer, Molly Lundrigan, Zach Abraham, Tom Diemert and Mark Korwin-Kuczynski.
