7th-graders take first

The seventh-grade Pequot Lakes boys’ traveling basketball team placed first in a Fargo, N.D., tournament Saturday, March 23, against elite AAU teams as the only Minnesota team in the tournament. This was the team’s first time playing in an out-of-state tournament. The team’s next game is Saturday, April 6, against Brained at the Target Center before the Timberwolves game. March 23 results include: Pequot Lakes 47, Grafton Flames 35; Pequot Lakes 51, West Fargo Knights, 17; and Pequot Lakes 55, Bismarck Hurricanes 49. The team includes, back row from left, Coach Sjoblad, Coach Lane and Coach Larson; second row from left, Zach Sjoblad, Jack White, Zach Senst, Blake Lane and Sam Scheuss; bottom row from left, Austin Young, Adam Casanova, Chase Larson, Nathan Traut and Griffin Nelson.
