North Stars lose to Metro hockey team

The Breezy Point North Stars were edged by the Metro Jets 3-2 on Sunday, Feb. 17 in Tier III junior hockey action.

On Monday, Feb. 18, the North Stars fell on the road against the St. Louis Junior Blues 3-0.

Winning netminder Mikael Broliden finished with 29 saves. Breezy Point goaltender Walker Ensted stopped 42 shots in the loss to the Blues.

The North Stars, 3-38 overall, were scheduled to play at the Cleveland Junior Lumberjacks on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

Breezy Point is then scheduled to play at Twin City Steel on Saturday, Feb. 23.

Against Metro, Bo Borowski scored for the North Stars in the first period, and then teammate Billy Foy tallied early in the second session to make it 2-0. But Metro rallied with three goals to take a 3-2 lead into the third period.

The North Stars enjoyed a 27-24 lead in shots on goal. Losing goaltender Erikur Arnason finished with 21 saves.

Tim Taylor, Austin Williams and Kyle Whipple each had assists for Breezy Point.
