Lightning lose to Crookston

The Crookston Pirates topped the visiting Northern Lakes Lightning 5-1 in non-conference girls’ hockey action on Saturday, Feb. 2.

The Lightning, 11-11 overall, is scheduled to host Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Wadena-Deer Creek 5 p.m. Thursday. Northern Lakes’ home game against Wadena-Deer Creek on Thursday, Jan. 31, was postponed until Tuesday, Feb. 5.

Kaylyn Eggen scored the lone goal for the Lightning. Mariah Reed assisted on the goal. Kat Jansen finished with 27 saves for the Lightning.

The Hibbing-Chisholm Bluejackets edged the Northern Lakes Lightning 3-2 in non-conference girls’ hockey action on Tuesday, Jan. 29.

Kaylyn Eggena and Lexi Danielson each scored goals for Northern Lakes. Kat Jensen recorded 37 saves for the Lightning and Isabella Abear added an assist.
