Santa's Bobbin' Into Town - a great festival

Last Saturday was Pequot Lakes’ second Santa’s Bobbin’ Into Town Festival. For those who were unable to attend or participate, you missed a terrific event in our community.

There are so many people and organizations that deserve a special “thank you,” but at the top would be the organizing committee — our new organization, Community Action of Pequot Lakes. This not-for-profit membership group was organized to support our community, and we thank them for their hard work, especially Barb Merritt who organized the culminating Light Up The Night Parade.

To the many observers of the parade (those who were smart enough to back into parking spaces on Government Drive to watch from their vehicles or those who braved the cold), we thank you. To those who participated in the parade with a float or walking, an even bigger “thank you.”

My hope and desire is to see each and every one of you next year on the second Saturday of December for the 2014 festival. Mark your calendar!

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
