Thank you, from Pequot Lakes Fire Department

We would like to thank everyone for helping make this another successful Fire Prevention Week.

First, we would like to thank Eagle View Elementary School for allowing us to come in and talk with the kindergarten, first- and second-grade students about fire safety. This is something we really enjoy. Hopefully the students came home and shared the information they learned with their family.

Second, we would like to thank Mr. Lindholm, Pequot Lakes superintendent, for allowing us to come and participate in the fire drill at the middle school/high school. We felt this was important to observe since there have been so many changes done to the school in the last couple years. It is reassuring to learn that the superintendent views fire safety as something that is important.

We would also like to thank SuperValu of Pequot Lakes for their extremely generous donation of hot dogs, buns, cookies and chips. We really appreciate your support!

Last, we would like to thank everyone who came to our annual open house Wednesday, Oct. 9. We estimate we had about 500 visitors that evening. The weather was perfect for the fire truck rides and kitchen fire demonstrations.

We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and hopefully learned a little more about our volunteer department. The Pequot Lakes Fire Department has 26 active members; we are “on-call” 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We are proud to serve this wonderful community. Thank you for your continued support.
