Aimers deserved better

I do not know Mr. Aimers and have not been in contact with him, but I feel he has been done a terrible injustice by the PR-B superintendent. This is not a first-time occurrence for Mrs. Bettino. I moved into the Pine River district in 2003. That may have been her first year at the school. I clearly recall reading in the Pine River Journal of a meeting of the school board. At that meeting an assistant coach did not have his contract renewed and when he asked for the reason why was told by Supt. Bettino, it’s none of your business, you are not employed here.

This attitude seems to be entrenched in Ms. Bettino. I would think that Mr. Aimers’ 34-year career would speak for itself and that he would be an asset to the school and it would surely be in the best interest of the district to make use of his talents.

I also think it’s time for the school board to stand up and be counted.

I think the proper chastisement for Supt. Bettino would be to stand in front of the student body and make a formal apology to Mr. Aimers. Next to repeat 1,000 times, “I will not be rude,” then give her her final paycheck and hire someone worthy of the position.
