Thank you to the mayors of Brained and Baxter for sending out a proclamation and recognizing that week as such.

I am the volunteer coordinator at Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center and want to thank all of those volunteers who so graciously give so generously to our staff and patients by escorting visitors and patients, receptionist duties, visiting patients, popping popcorn, volunteering with the gift shop, painting nails and numerous other much need patient centered care items.

Please join me in thanking all volunteers at Essentia Health and other organizations such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H, Habitat for Humanity, women’s shelter, school district, The Center, Community Action, libraries, Confidence Learning Center, Common Goods, Bridges of Hope, Crisis Line, Good Samaritan Society, Experience Works, Heartland Hospice, Kinship Partners, Lakes Area Restorative Justice, Lutheran Social Services, RSVP, Ski Gull, United Way and others that I may have missed.

Thank you for all you do. Life is better here, because you volunteer.

Deb Anderson,

Volunteer coordinator/Gift Shop manager

Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Brainerd

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
