Join Faith in Action on Give to the Max Day Nov. 15

A grassroots, volunteer nonprofit organization like Faith in Action for Cass County survives because of local support. Fundraisers and mailing campaigns help tremendously; in reality, they are dwarfed by individual and civic organization giving. Local nonprofits are often too small to attract government and large foundation grantors, so they must be an active presence in the community, proving again and again the value of the services they provide.

Faith in Action connects compassionate volunteers with people who need transportation, visiting, respite, meal delivery, light homemaking and chores, simple home repair, and accessibility ramps. Volunteers gave over 5,400 hours and drove over 86,000 miles to help others in 2011. Working closely with many local programs, Faith in Action makes referrals and provides services based on need. Helping folks remain a part of their community is a primary goal. You may be a volunteer, a care receiver, or a donor, or all three. This is what it means to be community.

On Nov. 15, please join in supporting your community during Give to the Max Day. Called the “Great Minnesota Give Together,” giving online through, you have the opportunity to make a difference in the future of many local nonprofit programs and in the lives of those around us. Faith in Action for Cass County won’t just survive, it will thrive along with the communities we serve - thanks to you!
