Special thanks go to those helping with the parade, Carol Oehler, Quinn Swanson, Rod Osterloh, Jody Osterloh, Chris Hanneken and Erv Gravdahl! Thanks also to the Pine River Police Department and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office for their help with traffic control and to the City of Pine River Maintenance Manager Mike Hansen and his assistant LeRoy Hulke for their help in getting the streets ready. Thank you to the Pine River Lions for helping with traffic control and to the Pine River American Legion for hosting their steak fry and for leading the color guards in the parade.

The Summerfest Committee also thanks Pastor Tim Walker for managing the kid’s inflatable amusements and Diane Johnson for organizing the arts/crafts displays and Janice Gardiner for again managing the weekly flea markets. Thanks also to Sean Kaneski for organizing and running the Summerfest 5K Fun Run and Baby Ox Run. Muriel Erickson hosted another successful Pine River Library Book Sale and the Pine River Art Club hosted one of its famous art shows. The Prairie Fire Children’s Theater drew great crowds with their performances of the “Wizard Of Oz.”

Many other local organizations hosted events including Whispering Pines Good Samaritan, First Lutheran Church, United Methodist Church and Heritage Group North. Thank to all those mentioned and those I have not mentioned due to memory loss at my age.

I also want to specially thank Loyd Brogger, Vicky Brogger and Carol Oehler for helping volunteer at the Information Center while I needed to be absent to tend to Summerfest duties over the weekend. They are truly treasured volunteers!

Thank you to all who attended and all who participated, whoever you may be. You helped make a small community festival possible again this year!
