Philip W. Selisker, 90, Baxter, Minn., died Sunday evening at Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd.

Phil was born in Brainerd on July 11, 1923, to Frank J. and Johanna (Hudovarnik) Selisker. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and later retired from a career with the U.S. Postal Service. Phil was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, the American Legion, the National Association of Letter Carriers and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Surviving are Bonnie (Fitzharris), his loving wife of 66 years; children, Cheryl (Ron) Karnowski of Pequot Lakes, and John (Kathy) Selisker of Bemidji; grandchildren, Chad Rudbeck of Pequot Lakes, Regan Rudbeck of Walker, Mandi (Clint) Yliniemi of Merrifield, Tara (Kevin) Valley of Bemidji, Chris Jacobson of Bemidji, and Andy Jacobson of Cullman, Ala.; great-grandchildren, Josh and Erin Rudbeck, Deilia, Katja and Anika Yliniemi, Nathan and Drew Valley, and Amara Roberts.

Phil is also survived by many nieces and nephews and many, many wonderful friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Evelyn; and brothers, Frank and Raymond.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Brandon Moravitz officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday with parish rosary at 7 p.m. Friday at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Visitation continues Saturday the hour before the service at the church. Burial with military honors by the American Legion Post #255 Color Guard follows the service at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.

Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
