Breezy Point

Marian Ardelle Doerr, 88, of Breezy Point, passed peacefully surrounded by her family Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Good Samaritan Village–Woodland.

Services will be at noon Thursday, April 24, at Crosslake Lutheran Church in Crosslake with Pastor Terry Frovik officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis on Friday, April 25, at 1:15 p.m.

Marian was born Aug. 19, 1925, in Dell Rapids, S.D., the daughter of Steven and Agnes (Dybwad) Molskness. Marian was raised on a farm in Colman, S.D. The family were members of Colman Lutheran Church where Marian was baptized and confirmed. She graduated from high school in 1943 and moved to Minneapolis and attended Minnesota School of Business while living with her Uncle Nels and Aunt Harriet.

She began her career at Red Owl Grocery Store before working at Northwestern Bank and Western Union. She was married to Marvin Benjamin Doerr on March 7, 1950, and the couple made their home in St. Louis Park before moving to New Hope in 1958.

Marian enjoyed being outside; she liked golfing, gardening and having picnics. She also liked to bowl and work crossword puzzles. Marian made Breezy Point her home in 2007, where she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She will be missed by her children, Karen (Marvin) Martin of Breezy Point, Steven (Cindy) Doerr of Topeka, Kan., Cathy (Michael) Paul of San Anselmo, Calif., Mary Doerr of Minneapolis, David (Lynn Schoenstedt) Doerr of New Hope, and Bill (Lisa) Doerr of Lake Shore; and grandchildren, Josh, Chris, Jenny, Mandy, Brooke, Hannah, Skylar and Logan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and her daughter, Paula.
