Elvira M. Traff, 99, beloved sister, aunt and great-aunt, passed away March 8, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society Bethany.

She was born in Bellingham, Wash., on Sept. 24, 1914, to Charles and Annie (Nelson) Traff. She moved with her family to Logan, Mont., and later to Staples, Minn. She received a teaching degree from St. Cloud State Teachers College. Elvira taught fourth grade at Lowell for many years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Brainerd.

She is survived by her sister, Cecelia Granos; and brother-in-law, Melvin Granos; nieces, Karin (James) Nelson and Katherine (Scott) Davich; nephew, Paul (Renee) Granos; grandnieces and nephew, Kelsey Nelson, Joe Nelson, Cassie Granos, Allie Granos and Maddie Granos.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Charles Traff, and sisters, Edna Traff and Eva Traff.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society Bethany Chapel in Brainerd. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church in Brainerd or to Good Samaritan Society Bethany.
