Juanita Mae Lougee Graf was born Aug. 18, 1927, in Brainerd, Minn., to Leland and Hazel Lougee. She lived on the Lougee farm on the east side of Lougee Lake, which was named after her grandfather, Sam Lougee. She lived there for 10 years and then her family built a log home on the land close to where the Pelican Brook runs into the Pine River, where she lived until she was 17. She attended school at the Ossipee school and later at the Walker school, located then on the east side of Horseshoe Lake on the then called Walker School Road.

She married her husband, Walter Graf, Dec. 9, 1944. They lived in Duluth for a short time, then built their first home in Grand Rapids, Minn. They then moved and built a small home near her family’s log home. This small home was then moved to the Ossipee area on land where the Ossipee Community Church is. This home was added on to and was her residence for 50-plus years. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and caring for the home as well as gardening, growing flowers and canning vegetables. She always had the coffee on for anyone that stopped to visit. She and Walter camped for many years of opening fishing and were always at the family deer camp near Grand Rapids. She was faithful at Ossipee Church and taught Sunday school for more than 25 years. The last few years she lived at Carefree Living in Brainerd and often sang and yodeled. She said that her mission there was to tell everyone of her Savior, Jesus Christ her Lord.

She is survived by her children, Jerry (Karen) Graf, Sharon (John) Leek and Jack (Kim) Graf; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
