Ann Louise MacGibbon Bailey, 83, Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Feb. 18, 2014.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Charles D. Bailey; parents, Dr. Everett Ellsworth and Lucinda MacGibbon; brothers, John MacGibbon Sr. (Evelyn) and Dr. George MacGibbon (Nancy); and brother-in-law, William Conroy.

She is survived by four children and nine grandchildren, MaryEllen Benninger (Tom), Will and Claire; Peter Bailey (Leah), Charlie and Elise; Kathy Roberts (John), Jack, Carolyn and Morgan; Carolyn Bailey (Panos Lambrianides), Luke and Anna; a sister, Jean Conroy; a brother, Dr. James Duncan MacGibbon (Jan); many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Ann graduated from West High School in 1948 and the University of Minnesota in 1952. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and was an elementary school teacher. Ann married Chuck Bailey in 1953 and took great joy in raising her family. Ann enjoyed music, opera, golf, bridge, animals, summers at the lake cabin in Nisswa, and annual trips to Sanibel Island, Fla. She was an active member of St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in Wayzata.

Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, Feb. 28, at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. Bartholomew, 630 Wayzata Blvd. E., Wayzata. Private interment. Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 27, from 5-8 p.m. at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Ave. N., Plymouth. Memorials in Ann’s memory are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA), www.alzdn.org, or the Colon Cancer Coalition Foundation, www.getyourrearingear.com.
