C. Eldon Peterson, 83, of Pine River, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society, Pine River.

He was born to Clarence and Clara Peterson on Jan. 30, 1930, in Swanburg. Eldon worked in the construction trade for 45 years. He built many homes in the Whitefish Chain of Lakes area and also helped to build Faith Lutheran Church. He was a Rupp snowmobile dealer and racer, had a private pilot’s license and loved flying. Eldon served as past president of the Crosslake Ideal Lions Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Eldon is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley; children, Jay Peterson and David (Anicia) Peterson; grandchildren, Melissa Peterson, Ashley Peterson, Megan Peterson and Joseph Peterson; great-grandchildren, Carter and Preston; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joel Peterson; sisters, Lois Plymale and Margaret Fensand; and brother, Burton Peterson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Faith Lutheran Church, Swanburg, with Pastor Glenn Leaf officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Swanburg Cemetery.
