Crosslake Art Club to award scholarship to PLHS senior

The Crosslake Art Club will award a $500 scholarship to a Pequot Lakes High School senior who plans to major in an art related field at a college or technical school.

Graduating seniors are encouraged to apply. Applications are available from high school art instructor Dave Guenther.

The scholarship is a memorial to Jim Stevenson, a local artist who was a member of the Crosslake Art Club and contributed his art talents to the community. Small original paintings by art club members are sold at the annual art show with all proceeds going to the scholarship fund.

This year’s art show celebrates the club’s 30th anniversary and will be the second weekend in August. The Crosslake Art Club has more than 50 members and meets at 1 p.m. the first Monday of each month at the Crosslake Community Center.

Those interested in joining the group are encouraged to attend a monthly meeting. For more information, contact Laurel at 218-763-2449 or
