Williams wins conference championship in Informative Speaking


The Pine River-Backus speech team ended its season Tuesday, March 4, at the Walker meet, where Claudina Williams placed first and took home the conference championship in Informative Speaking. She received the trophy “wand.”

Also competing were Judy Reed and Autumn Crawford in Dramatic Duo, Lucy Schnoor and Mikayla Sundlie in Dramatic Duo, Austin Mackert in Humorous, and Jarod Birr in Humorous.

Varsity members Troy Fetter and Kyle Tschida judged.
