Pequot Lakes High School artist of the month

I am a senior who attended Pequot Lakes School in kindergarten and then spent the next 10 years Pine River-Backus School. Junior year, I returned to Pequot Lakes and am finishing my high school career here. Whether it’s the attempt to create some or if it’s me just listening to it, I adore everything about music.

Future plans:

I plan to go to college, majoring in music and then becoming a band teacher.

I have four siblings: two older sisters, one older brother, and one younger brother. I live with my mother, Julia Kurilla.

My history with art:

At a young age, I was introduced to that magical box of colors we call crayons. As time went on, I learned that crayons and I weren’t meant to be, so I tried colored pencils. Colored pencils were much more fun to work with, yet I still felt like it did a great job of degrading the quality of my “artwork.” I decided it would be best to take a hiatus from using colors, and to continue with mainly the use of a pencil. The pencil is still my preference of creating. I prefer to draw animals, especially the ones with an overabundance of fluff.
