4-H fair pet shows, fashion revue and demonstration results

4-H members from the area who participated the 4-H shows on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 1-2, of the Crow Wing County Fair are listed below.

The Cloverbud Pet Show included 4-H members who completed kindergarten through grade two. Jack Weindhandl, Black Bear, showed his dog. Cloverbuds receive a green participation ribbon.

In the Cat Show Kaelyn Spencer, Baxter Sandpipers, was awarded Grand Champion.

In the Pet Show Grand Champion went to Payton Wicklund, Black Bear, and Reserve Champion was awarded to Reese Wicklund, Black Bear, for their baby bunnies. Other exhibitors included Abby Schreier, Black Bear, blue for her fish, Gilbert.

Fashion Revue was held on Thursday with Rylie Young, Eagles, receiving a Grand Champion, Isabel Glover, Eagles, was awarded Reserve Champion, and Morena Hammer, Black Bear, received a blue ribbon.

Friday’s Demonstration Day featured seven public presentations which included; Aaron Sopelle, Grand Champion Pelican Lakes, demonstrated “How to Make a Smoothie”; Esther Kreutfeldt Reserve Champion, Independent member, showed “Basic to Weaving.” Julianna and Lillian Landis, independent members, gave a talk about horses.

Livestock demonstrations included; “Who Wants to be a Rabbit Breeder” by Katie Fillbrandt and Matthew Lagaard, independent members, Grand Champion; Peyton Wicklund, Black Bear, Reserve Champion, talked about her new rabbit family; and Abby Schreier explained about the Beveren breed of rabbits.
