North Dakota State University

Elizabeth Bajczyk, Katelyn Schmidt, and Brian Williams all of Breezy Point; Sara Wentworth of Merrifield; Jocelyn Converse and Jacob Weizenegger of Nisswa were named to the spring semester 2013 dean’s list.

College of St. Scholastica

The following area students were named to the spring dean’s list at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth: Carol Jensen of Breezy Point, a senior majoring in organizational behavior; Melissa Schwendeman of Pequot Lakes, a senior majoring in nursing; and Ellen Whiteman of Nisswa, a senior majoring in health information management.

Minnesota Grocers Association Scholarship

Shianna Gustason of rural Brainerd was awarded a $1,000 Minnesota Grocers Association Foundation scholarship. She has worked at Schaefer’s Foods in Nisswa for more than two years. Gustason will use the scholarship to attend Bemidji State University. The foundation received 482 applications from 66 companies, and awarded 25 scholarships based on community involvement and academic achievements.

Denton (Denny) Newman Jr.
I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
