Large vehicles sought for Truck Touch for Kids event July 13 in Pequot Lakes

The Pequot Lakes School Readiness Advisory Council will sponsor the fourth annual Truck Touch event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at Trailside Park by the Pequot Lakes Chamber of Commerce building.

Advisory council members are looking for truck or other large vehicle owners who would be willing to share their vehicle with area children for a few hours. Vehicle owners are asked to sign up with an advisory council member.

Children who attend the event will be able to get inside most of the vehicles. Possible vehicles include an ambulance, school bus, dump truck, front end loader and many more large vehicles.

The event is open to children and their families. Cost is $3 per child with a family maximum of $15. This event is a fundraiser to support scholarships for tuition costs for the School Readiness program in Pequot Lakes.

For more information, contact Sarah Tabaka, Pequot Lakes early childhood coordinator, at 218-568-9224, or the Pequot Lakes Community Education office at 218-568-9200.

To bring a truck or other large vehicle to the Truck Touch event, contact Tabaka before July 1.
