Williams earns JV Heartland Conference Champion in informative speaking

Over spring break, Pine River sent a small team to the last JV speech meet in Walker on March 12. 

Claudina Williams took a red ribbon and the Heartland Award on Tuesday for her informative speech on Haiti.  Over the entire season (eighteen possible rounds), Claudina took first place in nine rounds and second place in six rounds.

Katey Hanson took a red ribbon on Tuesday for her original oratory on the deaf-blind. Over the entire season, Katey competed in two different categories. In the original oratory category, she took first place in six rounds and second place in two rounds. In the informative speaking category, she took first place in five rounds and second place once.

Troy Fetter also competed in Prose on Tuesday with an excerpt of “The Lightning Thief” by Rick Riordan.
