Junior high speech team concludes season

The Pequot Lakes Junior High School speech team attended the final meet of the season Tuesday, March 12, in Walker, ending the season on a high note for many speech team members.

Nova Kilbourne took home a red ribbon in Humorous Interpretation and Renee Anick earned a blue ribbon.

In Prose, Courtney Rock earned a blue ribbon, and Abby Person took first place in Extemporaneous Speaking.

Allie Miller, though not in attendance, also earned a high award — the Heartland Conference Award in her category of Creative Expression. The award is given to the student with the highest cumulative score over the course of six junior high tournaments.

For the sixth-grade students on the team, this was the last tournament they attended this season; those in seventh grade and up are still able to compete at the senior high tournaments.
