Pequot Lakes High School seniors experienced real world situations at the annual Reality Store on Friday, Feb. 15, where seniors learned firsthand what life will be like after graduation.

In the Reality Store experience, students choose their careers and a computer database randomly assigns them a marital status, income and number and age of children.

The students then visit booths throughout the gym staffed by local educational and business professionals who provide students what they need for their families.

Those needs range from housing, insurance, groceries, car and gas purchases, and day care to hair services, armed forces services, voting options and pet care. Students must balance their lives with their family budgets.

The interactive event strives to teach financial skills.
