Nisswa Women's Club accepting scholarship applications

The Nisswa Women’s Club will award five $1,500 scholarships to area high school seniors.

Applicants must have a grade-point average of 3.2 or higher and plan to attend an accredited post-secondary school.

They must have lived within the boundaries of the Brainerd or Pequot Lakes high school districts and attended either high school for a minimum of three years or be graduating from Brainerd or Pequot Lakes high school.

Applications are available from Linda Dockter, Career Center director at Brainerd High School, and Anna Braam, guidance counselor at Pequot Lakes High School.

The deadline to apply is March 22.

Scholarships will be awarded at the senior recognition evenings, and the winners will be presented at the club’s general meeting May 16 at Timbermist.

The scholarships are funded by the annual Nisswa Women’s Club Fashion Show and Luncheon, which will be held May 28 at Madden’s Town Hall.

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
