Botany for Gardeners class offered Feb. 25

Certified University of Minnesota Extension Crow Wing County Master Gardeners will lead a Botany for Gardeners class from 6:30-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, in Room 109 at Pequot Lakes High School.

Master Gardeners are University of Minnesota trained volunteers whose job is to educate the public about a variety of horticulture subjects using readily-available, up-to-date, research-based information.

The Master Gardener Program educational effort is designed to enhance the public’s quality of life and to promote good stewardship of the environment.

This presentation will cover basic plant anatomy and physiology. Participants will learn about roots, stems, leaves and flowers.

Instructor is Jackie Froemming, U of M Extension educator.

Fee is $10. The instructor requires five registered students in order to hold the class.
