Community's help sought for Pequot Lakes fireworks show
As spring slowly creeps up on us after what has been a brutal winter, it is time to look ahead to warmer days.
It is no doubt that Pequot Lakes is home to many wonderful community festivals that draw people from near or far to enjoy our beautiful area. Planning for these festivals starts well before the thaw and takes many volunteer hours to ensure successful events.
The Pequot Lakes office of the Brainerd Lakes Chamber along with member business volunteers coordinate some of the biggest community events of the year. As we start our planning process for our events, the Chamber is looking to the community residents for support.
The Chamber looks to the business community to raise about $18,000 to support the annual Stars & Stripes and Bean Hole Days celebrations. These events together draw about 20,000 people to our area who patron our businesses and help keep our businesses healthy and flourishing.
The Stars & Stripes committee is looking to our community residents to help raise $3,000 for the fireworks display on July 3. These annual fireworks followed the next day by the Fourth of July parade have been longstanding traditions in our Pequot Lakes community and we would like to see that continue and grow with the support from all of you.
A fireworks donation fund has been set up at Lakes State Bank in Pequot Lakes. Donations also can be dropped off at the Chamber’s Welcome Center in Pequot Lakes.
If your business is interested in sponsorship, please visit www.pequotlakes.com or contact your Chamber. If you are looking for ways to get involved with the Chamber or these community events, please contact Jenna Crawford at 218-568-8911.
