Madden’s on Gull Lake is investing more than $1 million back into the resort property this winter. Renovations began in August and are set to be complete by April 2014, when the resort opens for its 85th year.

The first renovation project, which was completed in early November, focused on the resort’s Wilson Bay facility. The building is located on the west end of the property and was purchased by Madden’s in 1969. Wilson Bay is primarily used for weddings, private meetings and events, conferences and family reunions.

“Our goal when renovating Wilson Bay was to breathe new life into the building,” said Abbey Pieper, vice president of Madden’s on Gull Lake. “Wilson Bay has a fantastic view of the lake and we wanted the facility to have a light, serene and welcoming feel for our guests.”

Renovations will continue through the winter season as the resort works to update the entrance of its Madden Inn & Golf Club building. Madden’s has been working with an architect on the extensive project for more than a year and will have it completed by April 2014.
