Nisswa chamber to welcome new board members

The Nisswa Chamber announces the following people will join the Nisswa Chamber board of directors, effective Jan. 1, 2014, each for a term of three years (2014-16):

Sheila Avenson, The Office Shop; Kathy Bittner-Lee, DE Media/Echo Publishing; John Poston, Kids Against Hunger Brainerd Lakes; and Biff Ulm, Zaiser’s.

The Nisswa Chamber board of directors is composed of 12 members who help serve as leaders of the organization and assist in carrying out the mission of the Nisswa chamber, “To be a strong, effective organization focused on promoting our businesses, our community, and our quality of life.”

Chamber prepares

for move

to new location

The Nisswa Chamber will move to its new location, 25532 Main St., in November. Be aware of the following key dates barring any construction delays.

Nov. 4-8: The Chamber office, currently located at 25334 Smiley Road, will be closed. Computers, phones and materials will be moved to the new location, and staff will work with Internet/phone providers to get established at the new location.

Nov. 11: The welcome center office and the new public restrooms will be open.

Nov. 29: As Nisswa celebrates the City of Lights Festival, the chamber will also host the grand opening of the welcome center/public restroom building.
