This distinction is an honor held by few EMTs.

To maintain his status as a nationally registered EMT-P, Demcho completed, on a biennial basis, the most comprehensive recertification program for Emergency Medical Technicians in America. He not only completed courses to refresh his fundamental knowledge and skills but also attended a minimum of two hours per month of additional continuing education courses to advance his knowledge on new lifesaving skills.

By maintaining his nationally registered status and completing regular continuing education course, Demcho is among the few elite EMTs with the most training in prehospital emergency care in the nation.

Demcho was nationally registered as an EMT in 1993, and in 1995 increased his status to paramedic. In 2010 he increased his state of Minnesota EMS Regulatory Board status to EMT-CP, which is community paramedic.

He has been serving the Crosslake and Brainerd region communities since 1992. Demcho also has been a volunteer of the Crosslake Fire Department since 1992 as a firefighter and First Responder along with holding positions as a fire captain and Relief Association Board trustee/president.

The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians serves the national EMS certification organization by providing a valid, uniform process to assess the knowledge and skills required for competent practice by EMS professionals throughout their careers and by maintaining a registry of certification status.
