Volunteers sought for Pine River Information Center summer months

The Pine River Chamber of Commerce is inviting those interested in volunteering at the Pine River Chamber of Commerce Information Center to attend an informational meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, at the Information Center along Highway 371.

Duties of volunteers include opening and closing the Info. Center, giving out area information and maps, greeting the general public and light maintenance of the Information Center.

A general knowledge of the area and the state is an asset. Volunteers should enjoy visiting with the public.

Each year the Pine River Chamber Information Center welcomes visitors from around the world and provides information for residents of the area. Many visitors access the building from the Paul Bunyan Trail.

Volunteers at the Info Center over the years have enjoyed the experience. The center is an affiliate Explore Minnesota Tourism facility and as such is able to give out state-produced materials.

Those interested in volunteer opportunities can stop by the center and visit with Executive Director John Wetrosky or call 218-587-4000 for information.

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
