Volunteer attorneys will provide free legal consultations to small business owners throughout Minnesota via video conferencing. This unique pro bono service will give small business owners the opportunity to ask experienced business attorneys questions about business formation, leases, contracts, employee issues and similar business law topics.

Video conferencing technology allows clients to feel as though they are in the room with the attorneys who are in fact many miles away. This creative “virtual clinic” will allow clients to access free brief-advice legal assistance without having to travel to one of LegalCORPS’s in-person clinics.

Appointments are being taken from small business owners, prospective business owners or non-profits to get free 30-minute consultations from business lawyers through the SBC at Central Lakes College.

To participate, you must pre-register for a 30-minute session. To pre-register, contact the SBDC at 218-855-8140 or gbergman@clcmn.edu.

If a client needs more assistance than a 30-minute session can provide, referrals will be made to local legal firms for further representation or the client may apply for and, if he or she is income-eligible, receive full-representation assistance arranged by LegalCORPS.
