The market will run from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Fridays through September at the corner of Barclay Avenue (Main Street) and Third Street in downtown Pine River. Products will include bedding plants, produce, baked and canned goods, crafts and special features. There will be early season produce.

The first market will host the Pine River Garden Club’s fifth annual Plant Sale, which is a horticulture scholarship fundraiser. Another goal is to host local food-related businesses to share educational information, recipes and possible demonstrations using their products.

The market accepts SNAP/EBT through the Community Booth. Customers can use their SNAP card to buy tokens that can be used for food goods with any vendor at the market. Efforts are being made to secure matching funds so SNAP customers can double the value of their dollars.

Vendors within a 60-mile radius of Pine River are welcome and encouraged to participate in this established market, including crafters, gardeners, farmers, bakers and canners, as long as they abide by the Minnesota statutes for farmers’ markets and the Pine River Market Square guidelines.

A Community Booth will feature early fresh produce from Happy Dancing Turtle’s hoop house (greens and radishes to start), and accepts goods from local growers who do not have enough for a booth of their own. Customers can pick up a frequent buyer card at the Community Booth, and buy tokens that can be used with any vendor at the market to make the buying experience run smoothly.

The vendor application form and guidelines can be found at www.prmarketsquare.wordpress.com, or call Barb Mann at 218-838-6058 to have forms mailed.

Any business or individual may sponsor the market to help it continue to be successful.
