200 PR-B High School students to serve on Tiger Pride Service Day

On Friday, May 23, Pine River-Backus High School will send 200 students into the surrounding community to engage in a day of service learning.

Students grades 9-12 will serve in a variety of projects sponsored by community partners from 9 a.m. until midday. The event, called Tiger Pride Service Day, is intended to increase the interface between the Pine River-Backus community and its local youth.

Coordinated on behalf of the school by Rachael Biggar and Bobby Brunhuber, Americorps Promise Fellows through Minnesota Alliance with Youth, Tiger Pride Service Day will be the first of its kind at Pine River-Backus High School. A community luncheon at the high school is to follow. Tiger Pride Service Day sponsors, service sites and the public are encouraged to attend.

To receive more information or to learn how to be a part of the event, contact Pine River-Backus High School Principal Trent Langemo at or 218-587-4425.
