Happy Dancing Turtle will host four sessions of Eco Camp this summer at the Hunt Utilities Group Resilient Living Campus in Pine River.
Children attending Eco Camp will learn about ways to live more sustainably through projects, crafts, games and activities. Students will also have hands-on experiences at fun field trip destinations.
The pre-kindergarten group will visit B&B Goat Farm in Jenkins; first- through fourth-graders will tour Foothills Alpaca Farm in Backus; and fifth- and sixth-graders will experience Deep Portage.
There will be returning favorite activities, such as tie-dying camp T-shirts, and new ventures, such as exploring the use of technology in nature.
Sessions are as follows, based on the grade that children will enter in the fall of 2014: grades 1-2, June 16-20; grades 5-6, July 7-11; pre-kindergarten and ages 4-5, July 21-25 (two separate sessions, morning or afternoon); and grades 3-4, Aug. 18-22.
Each week-long session for school-age children runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Friday. Pre-K sessions run either 9-11:30 a.m. or 12:30-3 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Tuition for each school-age student is $75; pre-K tuition is $35. Tuition includes snacks, supplies, fees and a T-shirt.
