Emily firefighters retire

Retiring Emily volunteer firefighters were recognized recently for their many years of dedication to the city of Emily and surrounding communities. Former Emily Fire Chief Randy Moritz distributed plaques with the number of years of service, donated by the Emily Volunteer Fire Department. Retiring firefighters were, from left, Mark Landowski, 22 years of service; Troy Satchell, 15 years; Scott Myogeto, 21 years of service; Tom Hintz, 33 years; Alex Sutton, 25 years; and Jim Beaman, 21 years. Not pictured are Gene Genz, 37 years of service; and Steve Whitney, 27 years.

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
