City of Emily declines police contract with Pequot Lakes
The Emily City Council decided not to accept a proposed contract with the Pequot Lakes Police Department, according to draft minutes of the April 8 meeting.
The city’s interim police chief, Josh Herold, will work up to 31 hours a week.
The council also approved an aquatic invasive species watercraft inspection operating agreement with Ruth Lake Improvement District, Employment Resources Center, Inc. The council also approved a state of Minnesota grant agreement for level one and level two watercraft inspections. Watercraft inspectors will be paid $10 an hour.
In other business, the council:
• Learned that the Library Committee plans to have a library open house.
• Approved a revised fee schedule.
• Approved a charitable gambling license for Over the Hills Gang ATV Club.
• Reimbursed Emily Sand and Gravel for a $300 conditional use permit fee. The permit was denied.
