Property value assessments to be mailed soon

Email News Alerts

Crow Wing County property owners should be receiving their annual notice of property valuation and classification.

Each notice lists the assessed value of the property along with the tax classification. These assessments are used to calculate property taxes payable in 2015.

Gary Griffin, county land services supervisor for property valuation and classification, said, “it is very important property owners read and understand the notice because changes to a property’s assessment can impact property taxes payable the next year.”

Again this year property owners will see value notices and tax statements mailed together. By mailing the notices and statements together the county estimates to save $6,000 a year in postage and additional staff time. This will also enhance the understanding for customers on overall tax process.

Griffin encourages taxpayers to contact the Land Services Department with any questions about their properties’ valuation or classification. Call 218-824-1010, email assessor.office@crowwing.us, or visit www.crowwing.us.
