Eight to compete in Miss Pine River Scholarship Pageant

Eight young women will participate in the 35th annual Miss Pine River Scholarship Pageant at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 12, in the Pine River-Backus High School old gym. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The theme is “A Note-able Event,” and to celebrate 35 years, past Miss Pine River royalty will attend.

First and second princesses, as well as Miss Congeniality, also will be crowned.

Scholarships include $1,000 for Miss Pine River, $400 for First Princess, $300 for Second Princess and $50 for Miss Congeniality.

Roger Hoplin will be emcee. Pageant chair is Barb Klocke.

Miss Pine River 2013 Jamie Eastman will relinquish her crown, as will First Princess Katrina Adkins, Second Princess Kristle Peltier and Miss Congeniality Amanda Fleming.

Contestants will participate in a personal interview with judges, casual business wear, talent show and evening gown.

Miss Pine River royalty will represent Pine River in parades, neighboring pageants, Pine River Duck Races, Summerfest and other festivities.
