Easter Bunny to visit Pequot Lakes Library

Kids and parents, the Easter Bunny is coming to the Pequot Lakes Library on Saturday, April 12, from 2-3 p.m. The fun will include songs, crafts, stories and an Easter egg hunt, as well as, of course, saying hi to Bunny.

Each child will receive a free book. This very cool program is sponsored by this library and the Early Childhood Coalition.

Musical program to be presented April 30

Wednesday, April 30, at 6:30 p.m. is the time set for our next heritage program. We’ll be presenting Lauren Pelon’s program “Music from the Backyard and Front Porch.”

This presentation will feature music and stories of America’s indigenous people, songs and instruments of America’s many immigrants, and Pelon’s own compositions.

This is a free program open to everyone, sponsored by our library and Kitchigami Regional Library System. It is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Spring cleaning?

We are always open to donations of books. And this might be a good time to bring them in. We can’t accept National Geographics, encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest books or text books. We will take anything else.

We’re trying to build up a large reserve of books to have in our book sale. It’s hard to believe, but we are 10 years old this year, so we’d love to have the best-ever book sale. Thanks for your consideration.

Monthly exhibit

Our Exhibit Master has let me know that starting April 14, the library will feature an exhibit about Holocaust Remembrance. This is a time in history that we must never forget.

As always, thank you to our selfless and smart volunteers.

Quote for the month
