Aerospace Education Open House planned at Brainerd airport

Area educators are invited to attend an Aerospace Education Open House from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 5, in the Civil Air Patrol Building (CAP) at the Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport.

Educators who participate in CAP’s Aerospace Education Membership program receive free curriculum materials, including textbooks and teacher guides.

They are eligible to apply for $250 grants to further aerospace education, and for free STEM kits (robotics, RC aircraft, flight simulators and more).

Complimentary airplane flights in CAP aircraft will be scheduled near the end of the school year.

Aerospace Education Members join for a one-time fee of $35 and are not required to attend meetings or wear uniforms — only to promote aerospace education through the use of the many free K-12 materials.

All public, private and homeschool educators are welcome to attend the open house to view curriculum materials, tour the CAP facility, try a flight simulator station, enjoy refreshments and register for door prizes, including a 3D Solar System model.
